Program Track: Treatment of Periodontal Diseases and Peri-Implant Diseases
Course Description: This presentation will offer an evidence based protocol for the treatment of peri-implantitis. A novel flapless, minimally-invasive surgical procedure utilizing sterile saline and antiseptics will be demonstrated. Human histologic evidence of re-osseointegration will be shown. A protocol for detoxification of the implant surface, and subsequent re-osseointegration without damage to the implant, will be presented.
Educational Objectives:
· Explain the rationale for instituting an evidence-based, in office, and at home treatment regimen for the management of mucositis.
· Comprehend how to perform a flapless, minimally-invasive surgical technique to achieve intrabony bone fill and reduce pocketing around a peri-implantitis affected implant.
· Observe clinical examples of a regenerative open flap surgical procedure, using sterile saline and antiseptics for surface decontamination, where re-osseointegration has been achieved and confirmed by human histology.
