Dr. Geurs has disclosed that he is an AAP education consultant and does research through the university, receipt of grant money, for Periovance, Noveome, BioHorizons and Straumann.

Course Description: With the extension of shelter-in-place orders and stay-at-home and restriction of movement recommendations there is a huge amount of uncertainty among periodontal residents regarding their education and future. Drs. Tatakis, Geurs, and Xenoudi bring to this platform their wealth of expertise as periodontal program directors. They will share the steps they have instituted to address the challenges faced by residents, discuss their view of the future of periodontal education, and will answer questions posed by current, future, and former residents. • Discuss the effects of COVID-19 on periodontal education
• Explore the various options available for alternate educational streams
• Provide insight into the timeline and nature of transitions for graduating and incoming periodontal residents
