Course Description: There is no question that there is an ongoing opioid epidemic in the United States and that prescriptions following dental procedures have played a role in this problem. This 2-hour live webinar and interactive Q&A will enable the participant to:

· Describe the pain pathways as they relate to acute post-surgical dental pain
· Define multimodal analgesia
· Explain the mechanism of action, indications, contraindications, and adverse drug reactions for the following medications or drug classes: acetaminophen, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory mediators, corticosteroids, long-acting local anesthetics, and opioids.
