This webinar, hosted by the AAP in collaboration with the AIDPH and moderated by the VHA, is the third in a series of webinars designed to promote the 11 Healthy People 2030 Oral Health Objectives.  44.5 percent of U.S. adults 45 years of age and older have moderate or severe periodontal disease, and the Healthy People 2030 target is to reduce this proportion to 39.3 percent.  This webinar will focus on the importance of early intervention in periodontal disease and the relationship between periodontal disease and systemic disease.

1. Define Healthy People 2030 Oral Health Objective OH-6.

2. Describe at least five associations between periodontal disease and systemic disease.

3. List and define the codes associated with the periodontal screening (Community Periodontal Index; Periodontal Screening and Recording).
