Join the American Academy of Periodontology!

 

The AAP connects periodontists worldwide, from predoctoral study through retirement, to further the practice of periodontology and advance the science behind it. AAP members are granted access to the latest periodontal research and clinical information via in-person and virtual educational events, scholarly publications, networking opportunities, and translational resources. The most esteemed professionals in the specialty of periodontics make the AAP their periodontal home.

With the support of dedicated volunteers and staff, members of the AAP can rest assured that their needs, individually and beyond, will always be the AAP’s top priority.

Residents enrolled in an American Dental Association (ADA) accredited periodontal residency program are encouraged to join as a Student member.

 

Dental Student Interest Group (DSIG) - Predoctoral students enrolled in an accredited U.S. or Canadian dental school that have an interest in periodontics may complete this application to join the AAP.

Eligibility

To qualify for AAP’s International Student Membership category, you must provide AAP with a signed letter by the university admissions representative or director of the advanced specialty education program in periodontics. The letter must also contain the following:

  1. Be on official university letter head confirming the student’s status (enrollment in program)
  2. Must state their begin and end date in the program
  3. Must be written in English
